F.A.Q.
- Our location says that you can't do somethings. Can you still tape our wedding?
- We have a simple way for you to learn what we can or can't do at your wedding.. Simply visit our forms section and download our "Letter To Your Official." Please give it to the person who is marrying you. It will explain to them how we work and they can tell you if there are any problems with that. This is much more efficient than having you convey all of their rules to us, many of which we already assume to be true.
- As a general rule, we will not reduce our price because of things that are forbidden by your location. If your location is unusually restrictive about what we can do, talk to us and we may be able to create a custom package with a custom price to fit your needs.
- Do you use 3-Chip cameras?
- We not only use 3-Chip cameras, we use HD cameras. Our cameras are Sony V1U HD camcorders. They are High Definition 3-chip mini-DV cameras. There are even more technical facts on page 17 of our printable Acrobat document.
- Do I really need TWO videographers for the ENTIRE day?
- If this is a concern to you, please read this page so that you understand our reasons.
In addition to the reasons on that page, it has been our experience that having a second person at the reception is a huge asset to your wedding video. While one is shooting, the second person is charging batteries, switching tapes, holding additional lights, and gathering sound as well as many other tasks. We are very proud of our finished product and do not feel that we could reach our quality level with only one person at the reception.
- Do you use lights? What kinds? How bright are they?
- We never use lights during a ceremony unless specifically requested by you. We will use a camera mounted light at the reception and an occasional light stand for special dances and events. How bright are they? Ask to see them at our meeting! We can bring any piece of equipment and demonstrate its use for you. We put a priority on being unobtrusive so you can be sure that lighting is something we try very hard to control.
- How do you dress?
- A suit and dress/suit are normal for us.
- If you are planning an even more formal, black-tie, event then please speak to us about your concerns.
- How will you record sound at my ceremony?
- We usually put a wireless microphone on the groom, one on the officent and another on the readers’ podium. If you do not wish to have a microphone on your groom we can accommodate you, but be aware that we can easily hide it behind his boutonniere and the audio we receive will be far better because of it. If you have any concerns about this ask to see our microphones at our meeting.
- What happens if your microphone receives interference?
- The good news is that we have encountered many wireless problems before and are careful to watch out for them. (Example: The groom should not wear a cell phone to the alter!) It is true that wireless microphones may pick up interference inherent to a location. Because of this we record sound using the cameras' microphones as well. However, our wireless system will be far superior to that which is why we will do everything we can to get the strongest signal possible. You should be aware, however, that it may be necessary (although unlikely) to rely on this back-up audio.
- Will you interview my guests? I love/hate that.
- There seems to be no middle ground on the issue of guest interviews. That is why we make a point to ask ahead of time which you prefer.
If you DO want interviews we will set up the second camera with its own microphone and lights. We then invite guests to come to that area as opposed to walking around from table to table. So even if you do ask for interviews, we will do it in an unobtrusive way that also happens to look much better.
- So what IS my master? I hear it's digital. How do I protect it?
- You should think of your "digital master tape" in the same way you think of a photographer's negatives. It is the tape you should keep in a safe place and only bring out to make copies of in the future. (Every package receives a digital master at no extra cost.) Visit our Forms page and read all about how to protect your master tape. (Article #3)
